The California Building Standards Commission publishes a complete set of revised California Building Standards Codes every three years, also known as a “triennial period” (http://www.bsc.ca.gov/). This seminar will examine the major revisions to the accessibility provisions in Chapter 11B and other related changes proposed for the 2016 edition of the California Building Code, which is scheduled to be released on July 1, 2016, and to become effective January 1, 2017.
It is important to note that the following information is only a preview because the final language is still subject to change until its official release on July 1, 2016, and subject to further “editorial” revision until the effective date of January 1, 2017. However, the following is based on the latest record of “Final Express Terms” published by the Division of the State Architect (DSA), Access Compliance, at the Access 2016 page (as of February 19, 2016).
