Clarfied via revision to Figure 11B-604.8.1.4 that the 6-inch toe clearance beyond the accessible compartment only applies to the side of the compartment, not the end. This is because the model code (2010 ADA Standards) allow for a shallower compartment depth; however, California requires that compartment exceed 65 inches in depth, so the additional toe clearance at the end of the compartment is never a requirement.
(You did know that you are supposed to provide that clearance if your compartment is less than 66 inches wide, right?)
